Post game jam updoot!
Congrats to everyone who participated in the game jam, and thank you to everyone who took the time to rate each other's games and leave nice comments and feedback! Without further ado, heres the updeets of the updoot:
Whats new:
- Added a different sprite for P2.
- Added different coloured trails for each player to identify characters better.
- Turned PvE modes into endless modes. Each round won will add another bot opponent. One bot can be easily cheesed, but when theres many, bots together strong.
- Added coop mode: Test your teamwork and play together against bots!
- Added mouse control scheme to singleplayer mode and P1. Now you can have smooth omni-direction movement!
- Added an input to drop your gift on command.
- Pause button changed from Esc/Space to Esc/Tab to accommodate for the new input keys.
Balance and gameplay changes:
- Reindeer will no longer knock you back. It probably caused too much chaos before, making players lose track of where they are if they get knocked to the edge of the screen.
- Reindeer will now push gifts around. Gifts will despawn when they are pushed outside the map. This will disseminate the hotspot of the map more towards the edges rather than the middle. Also, it will finally make use of my object pooling code I worked so hard on.
- Reduced the overall speed of the reindeer from 2-8 to 2-6 (Players' speed range from 2-6 depending on the weight of gift they are carrying).
- Santa will now spawn gifts at different intervals depending on the round's timer (2:00, 1:30, 1:00, 0:30). This will improve the pacing of the game and make comebacks more possible.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed bug where the endscreen text is missing when homeside loses the game.
- Fixed bug where bots would be stuck on the gift without picking it up on rare occasions.
- Code optimisation, probably only noticeable if you play on a potato.
